The tally of coronavirus cases crossed the 25,000-mark in Bangladesh on Tuesday as the virus is spreading fast across the country.
Prof Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), in the daily health bulletin said 1,251 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
The total number of coronavirus cases in the country now increased to 25,112 with the fresh ones, she said.
Bangladesh reported the first coronavirus case on March 8 last while the first date from the virus on March 18.
Besides, Nasima said the country recorded 21 more deaths in the last 24 hours till Tuesday, taking the death toll in the country to 370.
She said 408 more patients recovered from Covid-19 disease in the last 24 hours, taking the number of people making recovery to 4,993.
Prof Nasima said 8,449 were tested in 42 labs across the country in the last 24 hours. With this, a total of 193,645 samples have so far been tested in the country.
On Monday, Bangladesh reported record 21 deaths from coronavirus and highest 1,602 cases.
Meanwhile, the global death toll from coronavirus has reached 320,130 as of Tuesday morning.
Besides, it has so far infected 4,890,863 people around the world, according to Worldometer.
Currently, 2,663,341 confirmed COVID-19 patients are being treated and 44,765 of them are in serious or critical condition.
So far, 1,907,392 have made recovery from the disease.
